Hjelle Seter is located on sunny Dovre Mountain, 950 metres above sea level, just 5 km north of Dombås on the E6. Hjelle Seter is surrounded by panoramic mountains in every direction, offering an abundance of animal, bird and plant life. There are herds of wild reindeer and musk oxen in Dovre National Park and excellent opportunities for hunting and fishing. Hjelle Seter is located 3 km from Fokstumyra Nature Reserve where scientists have registered 75 different species of birds nesting.
Hjelle Seter serves coffee, sour cream waffles, cakes, soup, home-made 'rømmegrøt' (sour cream porridge), or a simple dinner-of-the-day. You can sit near the old hearth, in the main parlour or in the sitting room, all of which offer a traditional homey setting. Hjelle Seter is also available for various events. The facility is fully licensed.
Hjelle Seter has six splendid cabins for rent. They are quite well-equipped, with electric heating, an electric cooker and refrigerator, and a fireplace or wood-burning stove. The cabins are different sizes. The largest has three bedrooms, a kitchen and a spacious, cosy family room featuring an impressive soapstone fireplace. Shower and toilet. Sleeps 8. Otherwise, the cabins are designed for 6 - 4 - 3 - 2 people.
